Episode notes & timestamps
Magic basketball is back! Al and Anthony react to Orlando’s 122-118 preseason win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Sean Sweeney’s first game as head coach. They break down the 35 assists and 20 threes, Franz Wagner handling the ball, and how Jalen Suggs’ return could change the offense. They also cover the bench standouts, led by Tristan da Silva’s shooting and Jamal Cain, plus Kevin Knox and the preseason roster picture.
Then they turn to the big storyline: Anthony Black’s extension deadline. Should Orlando pay him now or wait? What could the deal look like, is it worth paying for his potential, and how could Sweeney unlock more from him? In Pass or Shoot, Al and Anthony debate whether Black signs before the deadline, whether Franz should be the primary ball handler, and whether the Magic need a true point guard. They close with a preview of the two games against Cleveland and which preseason trends matter beyond wins and losses.
