Another Wagner Brother Injured

Orlando, FL— The Orlando Magic have announced that center and sixth man Moritz Wagner has come down with a new injury, suffering a torn ACL in his left knee and effectively ending the remainder of his 2024-25 season.

Early in the second quarter in a matchup with the Miami Heat, yesterday evening Moe Wagner fell to the floor grabbing his left knee with an injury before having to be carried off by two of his teammates and would not return to the game.

Moe Wagners Season Numbers

In 30 games this season Moe Wagner was averaging 12.9 points, and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 56.2% from the floor and 36.0% from behind the arch. Exactly one week ago in New York Moe Wagner logged a career-high 32 points while also knocking down four shots from downtown.

Wagner was well on his way to becoming a candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year award and was playing some of the best basketball of his career. As of Dec. 22, he ranked second in the NBA in points off the bench (372) and 15th in field goal percentage.

“I just gotta say one thing. Put some prayers out there for Moe Wagner,” Cole Anthony on Moe Wagner’s injury. “You not gonna meet a dude who works as hard as him. Who is as committed to the game as him. And just truly truly loves the game.”

Orlando’s Next Man Up

Orlando has been dealing with an onslaught of injuries and this situation is no different. The Magic will have to continue to find a way to defy the odds and keep that “next man up” mindset moving forward with Moe Wagner injured all year with an ACL tear.

The Magic are still without both Paolo Banchero (oblique) and Franz Wagner (oblique) for an extended period, and they will now be missing Moe Wagner for the remainder of the season.
